I’ve been through A LOT of tough times and have suffered through some MAJOR losses in my life. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
There were many times where I honestly wasn’t sure if things could ever be OK again. For me this was especially true after losing a loved one too soon. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
But, reading this quote, reminded me of the journey between where I’ve been and where I am today. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
It took me years to properly grieve and walk through certain things and in the moment it felt like the heartache would never end. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
But with time, love, patience and care, it eventually did and I’ve been able to replace the disappointment, trauma and loss with forgiveness, love, and a deeper understanding and respect for life. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
So even though this might seem like a simple, silly quote, those of us who’ve made it through to the other side of some really hard s*%t, know how profound of an understanding this actually is.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
Whatever it is you may be going through today, remind yourself that it’s not the end of the story.⁠⠀

Those weren’t the most enjoyable experiences, but I can confidently say, they were still worth the effort. ⁠

That’s kind of the thing with “Life.” ⁠

It won’t always be “fun,” but more often than not, there is a new kind of joy to be found on the other side. ⁠

Hi! 👋 Since I'm officially back from my holiday break, I thought it would be fun to kick off the New Year by introducing some of the people (and pets) that I'm lucky enough to do life with. ⁠⠀

💍 Garry: I got engaged in 2020 to the most amazing man. It's been a long time coming for the both of us, but I'm so grateful that our journey in life led us to each other. ⁠⠀
⁠⠀
👭👫 Mike, Dru & Rachel: I have 4 siblings. 1 older brother and 2 younger sisters and I call them my built-in best friends. 6 years ago we lost our baby sister but we keep her memory alive by continuing to love and support each other.⁠⠀
⁠⠀
👩‍❤️‍👨 Mom & Dad: they have always been so incredibly supportive of all their kids. Whatever we’ve wanted to do in life, they’ve always had our backs. They really are our biggest fans ❤️⁠⠀
⁠⠀
🐶 Miley: I'm also lucky enough to have a doggie best friend. Although she is a feisty little thing that sheds like CRAZY 😫, I'm grateful for all the furry cuddles she's given me over the last 10 years. ⁠⠀

I’ve been slowing things down here on my account

I’ve been slowing things down here on my account over the last week so that I can enjoy the holidays. ⁠
⁠
I’ve worked incredibly hard this year and haven’t taken any vacation time, so I had to make sure I scheduled actual time off before this year ended. ⁠
⁠
I’ll be out of office until January 4th and won’t be posting as much this week so that I can do a combination of resting, planning, cleaning, resetting and self-caring!⁠
⁠
Wishing you all a Happy New Year in advance and hope you are also able to take some time off for self care! ⁠

This year, some of my family members had to socially distance so my fiancé, my brother and I got together and kept the Xmas pajama tradition going. ⠀

It was a grinch themed Xmas for us this year.⠀

2020 was the year of Zoom meetings for me. ⁠
⁠
My company went completely remote almost immediately and I’ve pretty much been sitting in one of two positions all year - either at my couch or my desk. ⁠
⁠
Zoom has become a daily part of my life in 2020, which I would never have expected. ⁠
⁠
Not going to lie, I wouldn’t mind having less virtual meetings in 2021, but I’m also grateful that I’m able to work safely from home.⁠
